The patch is released for providing  the solution for the following problems.
 1. While fetching POS Articles , Insured Registers Parcels also are getting fetched into SpeedNet.
 2. While Login to Speednet error - "There is already an object named versionxmonitor"

 1. Take Full Backup of PSOPCC
 2. Execute the Patch1 Exl file through Script Tool.exe
 3. Confirm that script is executed succesfully.

OLIVETTY PASSBOOK PRINTER CALIBRATION

 If your olivetty passbook printeris not working, test the following method of calibration.


Olivetti passbook printers are widely used printer in post offices. Sometimes we find problem with printer when it stops printing. In that case, calibrating the printer can solve your problem. Follow the steps to calibrate Olivetti PR2/PR2E passbook printer:
  • Switch off the printer.
  • Open the top cover of the printer and keep Head of printer at extreme left side.
  • Press all three buttons ("Station 1", "Local" and "Station 2") and then switch on the printer. Printer will give a beep sound.
  • Now close the top cover of the printer and press "Station 1" two times. The print Head will start moving and roller will start rolling.
  • Now press "Station 2" once and then add a paper to the printer and again press "Station 2".
  • Printer should take paper inside and all LEDs should blink within 5-10 seconds.
  • If not, then keep pressing "Station 2" until all LEDs glow.
  • Now switch off the printer and take test print. To take test print, press "Station 2" and power on the printer. If printer gives you the proper test page then congratulations, your printer has been troubleshooted.
  • Note: Calibrating a printer is not an easy task and you may do these steps three-four times to calibrate the printer properly

1.
Even after running the ‘MoF_RateChange.exe’ patch, the software shows wrong maturity date for MIS and NSC 5 Year Issue.
The maturity date shown in the software will continue to show the older maturity period and will not affect any present activity and hence you can ignore the maturity date displayed in the software. As per the SB order No 23/2011 the certificates needs to be stamped and signed by the Postmaster before being given to the customer.
2.
What is the procedure to follow for allotting registration number for the NSC issue after the implementation of the new SB orders?
For NSC 5 Year issue the previous block of registration number allotted for NSC 6 Year issue should be continued without break. For the new NSC 10 Year issue, a new block of registration number is to be allotted. At present, NSC 10 Year issue is to be handled manually and is NOT available in the Sanchay Post software.
3.
What is the procedure to follow for return of KVP stock and for issue of duplicate KVP?
A report for return of the available KVP stock in Sanchay Post for that office will be provided in DBAnalyzer. A provision to make the stock ‘NIL’ will also be provided. The system administrator should ensure that no cleared cheque presented before 28/11/2011 and realized before 01/12/2011 is pending for issue of KVP, before executing the stock-clearing option.
4.
Should some stock for issue of duplicate KVP be retained at the HO while sending unsold stock to CSD?
No, all the stock of unsold should be returned to CSD.
5.
Is the new rate of one percent deduction on the rate specified applicable for TD PMC for TD accounts opened before 01/12/2011?
Yes, the new rate of TD PMC is applicable for all TD accounts opened before or after 01/12/2011, but prematurely closed on or after 01/12/2011.

SANCHAY POST ERROR - "Fatal disk error"



A number of Offices running Sanchay post have been complaining of an error received when they try to logon to the Sanchay Post module viz. 'Fatal disk error'.

The problem mentioned is due to a virus named 'Sality'.
Symptoms of ‘Sality’ virus infection:
- An error ‘Fatal disk error’ is shown when Sanchay Post is started.
- Postv5.exe is size is above 50 kb.
- If reinstalled, Sanchay Post runs only once, but fails with 'Fatal disk error' from the next time onwards.
To solve the problem, backup all databases and then scan/clean the system with updated antivirus software.
To prevent this problem, ensure that antivirus software is updated regularly.

1. Whether the vendor is providing O/S support after installation. The preloaded O/S though good it seems have at some locations crashed during work of installation/ work progress of deptl software. Whether HP is comprehensively supporting the O/S may be informed. The same is not true with M/s Wipro and M/s HCL Ltd as they are supporting the O/S also.


HP is Providing O/S support remotely as well as onsite case to case basis.

2. What is the time lag for getting spare parts, if required upon to be supplied in case of damage. It took more than 3 days to get one HDD replaced.

All required spares which need to be replaced are provided within three working days, Physical damage cases will be replaced on chargeable basis.

3. What extent we are supposed to open up the Cabin of CPU or other hardwares as the HP customer support over phone, is extensively requiring us to do so each time the log is made for a complaint.

End user is not suppose to open the cabin of CPU incase the technical person supporting insist on the same pls ask the technical person to take me in con-call on 09818278064.



3 a. Is it required to actually open the cabins each time, since the system is in warranty, the Phone-in customer support usually asks to open up, refix the RAM, refix the Cables joining the Mother Board to the HDD, CD-RW and even other fixtures. They are not accepting to log the complaint even without these exercises. This is totally unhealthy as it may otherwise lead to some other faults/complaints, while opening the cabins.

Subject:- Removal of ceiling of maximum balance to be retained in a post office savings

account- amendment to Rule-4 of the Post Office Savings Account Rules 1981

regarding.

Sir / Madam,

The undersigned is directed to say that issue of removal of ceiling of Rs.1 lac in single savings account and Rs.2 Lac in Joint Savings Account fixed in the year 2000 was under consideration in the Min. of Finance (DEA). This issue was linked to the benefit of exemption in Income Tax on the

interest earned in Post Office Savings Account under Section10(15) (i) of Income Tax Act, 1961 by the CBDT and Min. of Finance (DEA). After sustained efforts on the part of this Directorate, Min. of Finance

(DEA) has now amended Rule-4 of the Post Office Savings Account Rules 1981 vide G.S.R.681(E)F.No.2/5/2006-NS-II dated 15.9.2011 (copy enclosed). Some major benefits of this amendment are

given below:-

(i) From 1.10.2011, there will be no limit for retaining balance in single as well as joint savings

account.

(ii) A depositor or depositor(s) can deposit any amount into single as well as joint savings account.

(iii) Maturity value of any savings instrument can be credited into savings account of the depositor

standing in the same post office irrespective of the balance in the account.

(i) Any cheque either issued by Postmaster or any other authority irrespective of any amount can be

credited into post office savings account irrespective of the balance in the account.

(ii) From the Financial year 2011-12, Interest income of Rs.3500/- in the case of single account and

Rs.7000/- in case of Joint account will be exempted from Income Tax. (Section 10(15) (i) of Income

Tax Act, 1961 amended vide Notification No. 32/2010 {F.No. 173/13/2011-IT

A.I}/S.O.1296(E) dated 03.06.2011)

(iii) It is the duty of the depositor(s) to show the interest income earned from Post Office Savings

Account(s) beyond the limit prescribed above in the Income Tax return and pay due Income Tax.

2. It is requested that all field units may be directed to give wide publicity to these changes in the

shape of Public Notice and printing of leaflets.

1. SpeedNet Set-Up for P2P Offices to use it along with UID Booking Module.


2. Two important solutions given as below.

A. Change in the BNPL Booking Message for Excel File Upload and Range Scan - Change in the internal process in the software. This is to fix the problem of Excel File Article Message Data getting mixed up with Range Scan Articles Message Data -when the two types of booking are executed at the same point of time from two different systems. There is possibility of missing Pin Codes due to this mixing of message data which is avoided through this updation.


B. Solution for Shift End error in SpeedNet where it is configured with No Sets.

3. MNOP latest changes to 3 Circles AP ( Rajhamandry New IC hub) / UP ( Varanasi/Allahabad Pin Range Modification) / Punjab (Chandigarh and Patiala

4. Collection of counter Booked Flat Rate Box in SpeedNet with Specific Article Types. Domestic FRB as EPP / Domestic Ins FRB as Ins EPP and Foreign FRB as FRGN (Merchandise). SpeedNet will allow the prefix CF for Domestic FRBs and CP for Foreign FRBs for those types of Articles only.

Release of new Meghdoot software for Class C and B offices

  A new version of Meghdoot software (Meghdoot 7.0) is released by CEPT Mysore for testing at the identified B/C Class post offices. This version is available for download at the URL

  The period of testing is from 11/05/2011 to 17/05/2011. It is requested to identify atleast two offices (Class C/B) in each division for testing and giving a daily feedback to CEPT Mysore in the proforma at Annexure . Divisional System Administrator may be directed to visit these offices during the period of testing and impart training to the staff and be in communication with CEPT about the working of the software.




Based on the feedback received during the testing phase, this version will be released all over India by 23.05.2011 for installing at B & C Class post offices which were supplied with Windows 7 Operating System and SQL Server Express Edition by Directorate.

NETWORK BACKUP PROBLEM IN WORKGROUP SYSTEMS.

For taking bakup in network location( ie in a client system) in WORKGROUP environment using sql server maintenance plan please do the following.


1. in the server , type services.msc in Run, select MSSQL Server, click on the logon Tab. Deselect Local system Account and Select this account. Type an admistrative user name and password which can access the shared folder in the specified client.
ie., Server Administrator user name and password. For eg:- POSTMASTER, Administrator etc.


Do this for the service SQL server agent also. Stop and restart these services.

Then in the maintanance planGive folder locations as \\client\backup
for eg:- \\mpcm\backup

provided, the folder should be fully shared.
Backup files will be created in the client location at the specified time.

Please download the software using the above link, unzip and start upgradation following the below procedure:

1. Ensure that transactions for the day are complete
2. Please take backup of all databases and mdb files before proceeding further
3. Please do not drop any database
4. Upgrade the modules in the following order:
a) ePayment
b) Point of Sale
c) Postman
d) Treasury
e) AccountsMIS
5. While upgrading each module, please go through the readme available therein without fail. After going through readme only, please upgrade the module
