OLIVETTY PR2 E PLUS PASSBOOK PRINTER CONFIGURATION IN WINDOWS 7

To Configure Olivetti Printer in Windows 7: 

• Download Olivetti drivers from   http://www.olivetti.com/Tool/Download/DriverFirmware/view_html   . Select the product model as PR 2 PLUS  and select the operating system as windows 7 .
• 
  
• Connect Olivetti Passbook printer and install drivers from downloaded setup.
• Select Port which you have connected with pc USB/COM/LPT

Configure Server Properties Forms in Windows 7:

Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Print Management  > Printer Servers ->    -> Forms  and then Click on Action menu > Manage Forms.

•  Select Create New Form. Give the name of the form as ‘PASSBOOK’
• Give the following dimensions to the form for Vista and Windows 7 operating system.

Width : 7.92 inch Left : 0.16 inch Top : 1.04 inch                                    
Height : 5.80 inch Right : 0 inch Bottom : 0 inch                              

•   Select Printing Preferences>Layout >Advanced> Paper/Output Paper Size >Select “PASSBOOK”.

CONFIGURING OLIVETTY PASSBOOK PRINTER IN USB PORT

How to configure OLIVETTY PASSBOOK Printer to work through USB Cable ?

HOLD BOTH STATION1 and STATION2 BUTTONS IN THE PRINTER
Switch on the printer
Leave the Buttons
Insert the paper into the printer
Automatically Printer will take the paper inside and a message will be printed as follows

STATION 1-CONFIRM STATION 2=SKIP PRESS LOCAL TO CONTINUE
Press LOCAL and then STATION 1
The Default Configuration will be printed as follows

MENU : CONFIG Press STATION 1
DRAFT SPEED: NORMAL Press STATION 1
LQ TYPE: NLQ1 Press STATION 1
PAPER WIDTH: FIRST LINE Press STATION 1
BUZZER: Y Press STATION 1
INTERFACE By default SERIAL or COM1 will be there Press STATION2
Till USB is printed and then Press STATION 1
USB EMULATION By default OLIVETTI will be there Press STATION2
Till IBM is printed and then Press STATION 1
PLUG&PLAY: N Press STATION 1
PAP.EDGE DECTEC.: N Press STATION 1
SPECIAL FORMS: N Press STATION 1
PRINT MODE STANDARD Press STATION 1
BIM MODE: MONO Press STATION 1
PNS SELECTIONS: N Press STATION 1
SAVE PARAMETERS Y Press STATION 1
MENU : CONFIG
Leave the paper in the printer and switch off the printer (Press power button in the PB printer)
SWITCH ON THE PRINTER
Automatically the paper will be ejected
THE SAME METHOD MAY BE USED TO CONFIGURE SERIAL OR COM1 PORT

OLIVETTY PASSBOOK PRINTER CALIBRATION

 If your olivetty passbook printeris not working, test the following method of calibration.

How to calibrate Olivetti PR2/PR2E Passbook Printer

Olivetti passbook printers are widely used printer in post offices. Sometimes we find problem with printer when it stops printing. In that case, calibrating the printer can solve your problem. Follow the steps to calibrate Olivetti PR2/PR2E passbook printer:

• Switch off the printer.
• Open the top cover of the printer and keep Head of printer at extreme left side.
• Press all three buttons ("Station 1", "Local" and "Station 2") and then switch on the printer. Printer will give a beep sound.
• Now close the top cover of the printer and press "Station 1" two times. The print Head will start moving and roller will start rolling.
• Now press "Station 2" once and then add a paper to the printer and again press "Station 2".
• Printer should take paper inside and all LEDs should blink within 5-10 seconds.
• If not, then keep pressing "Station 2" until all LEDs glow.
• Now switch off the printer and take test print. To take test print, press "Station 2" and power on the printer. If printer gives you the proper test page then congratulations, your printer has been troubleshooted.
• Note: Calibrating a printer is not an easy task and you may do these steps three-four times to calibrate the printer properly

PASSBOOK PRINTER-INITIAL CONFIGURATION AND SETTINGS

TO CHANGE THE EMULATION TO IBM FROM OLIVETTY


1. Press station 1 +station2 ; ON the printer  and continue pressing for 30sec& insert the paper.

2. it shows station1=continue,station2=skip,local=config

3. Press local, it shows Menu : config

4.. Press station1 to continue until the printer name display as OLEVETTI

5. Press station2, the display changes to IBM

6. continue press station1 button until it displays save changes to Y

7. switch off the printer and swith on
