Solution to the Common Errors in Accounts PBS Module

Name of exe file: Schedule7.8.exe

The above mentioned exe file shall resolve following errors / issues in Accounts PBS Module:

1. Pensioner DA Arrear generation.
2. Deletion of PLI / RPLI unwanted Policies.
The steps to be followed for using the above mentioned exe are as follows:
i. Please download the above mentioned ‘Schedule7.8.exe’ from the Solution Folder
on ftp site. Then rename it as ‘Schedule.exe’.
ii. Now replace the old exe with this latest exe (Schedule.exe) into the specified
folder.
Note 1: Procedure to be followed for Pensioner DA Arrear generation:
1. Pension with 80% DA should be drawn for the months required i.e. July 2013 to Sep
2013.
2. Modify (NOT NEW DA ) the DA under Allowances --> Modify --> Select Correct DA
already configured i.e. 80% in this case --> Edit --> Select 80% config --> Enter from
month 07/2013 and rate as 90%.
3. Generate Arrear Vouchers --> Select that particular DA which was configured as
90%...because many offices are having many DA in different names.
4. Reports --> Arrears; the Arrear Vouchers shall be displayed.
Note 2: Deletion of PLI / RPLI Unwanted Policies:

Since Independence, every move of the RBI has been aimed at development keeping in mind the welfare of the common man. In this connection, granting a banking licence to India Post will be a unique service to farmers, farm labourers and the rural poor, who feed the country but die of hunger.

The huge number of farmers’ suicides should prompt us to enable faster financial inclusion as only 35 per cent of the population holds bank accounts. India Post is the best equipped to take this on, with over 1,53,000 post offices spread across the country, located not more than 2-3 km from each village.

India Post has ready infrastructure, which can be quickly upgraded to meet the needs of a full-fledged bank branch in this age of solar power and satellite telecommunication. On the other hand, it would probably take decades for other applicants to open 1,53,000 branches.

Post offices already provide basic banking services such as savings and fixed deposits (NSC) and products such as Kisan Vikas Patra and Public Provident Fund which they will continue to do. They can spread the reach of other savings instruments such as government bonds, and tap the savings of the well-to-do in rural India for the development of the country as well as crop and healthcare insurance.

Wipro, HP in race for Rs 1,500 cr India Posts devices project.

NEW DELHI: IT companies Wiproand HP are in race for supplying 1.3 lakh handheld devices to post offices under a project that is estimated to cost Rs 1,500 crore.

"Wipro and HP rpt HP have qualified for technical bids for supplying 1,30,000 handheld devices to Department of Posts. The vendor for this project as per DoP is expected to be finalised by end of this month," a senior government official told PTI.

The DoP has floated tender for supplying of handheld devices to 1,30,000 post offices located in rural area as part of its modernisation project.

The postal department has almost computerised about 25,000 of its departmental post offices but rural post offices will be provided handheld devices for digitalising records.

"The handheld devices will be connected to Postal departments network and softwares. These devices will be used for carrying out financial transactions like booking and receiving money order, speed post and other services provided through Post offices and for which a receipt or record is must," the official said.

Any transaction made using the device will get updates in core system of Post offices.

The device will have bio-metric module to identify individual having Aadhar number, solar power panel for charging in absence of electricity and thermal printer to immediately print and handover receipt to customer.

Inform arrests via e-post, cops told.

  CHENNAI: Now that the telegram is dead, how should police personnel arresting suspects inform the arrest to the relatives or friends of the suspect, as is required by law? Can oral intimation through mobile phone substitute telegraphic message?

Settling these issues which concern the fundamental right to liberty of citizens, the Madras high court has said officers arresting a person should now make use of the e-post system. Pointing out that e-post had come into force from January 30, 2004, a division bench of Justice V Dhanapalan and Justice C T Selvam, in an order on Wednesday, said it's is a credible alternative to telegrams for intimation purposes. If information is to be passed on through mobile or landline phone, the state government must first invite BSNL authorities and device a mechanism to put in place an effective method of communication, including receipt of acknowledgement, the bench said.

Problem/Bug n invoicing VP parcel articles to BO- update 8

 After  the up gradation of update 8 to megh 7.0  while invoicing the VP parcel articles to Branch office even if we entered VP amount correctly but afterviewing it shows that VP amount as 0. Even if we add VP parcels of various amounts also while viewing or taking returns it shows that VP amount as Zero.

India Post starts instant money transfer from UAE to India.

New Delhi: Eyeing the USD 35 billion money remittances business from Gulf, India Post on Friday announced launch of instant money transfer service in partnership with UAE's Emirates Post Group.

"India Post (Department of Posts) has signed an agreement with Wall Street Exchange (a company of the Emirates Post Group of UAE) for launch of an International Electronic Money Transfer service through 'Instant Cash' product of the Emirates Post Group," a DoP's official statement said.

'Instant Cash' is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Emirates Post Group, and its services are available in 59 countries through more than 60,000 locations.

"Recipients will be able to receive their payment at any of the identified 17,500 post offices by producing the unique transaction number along with their identity and KYC documents. Money will be available for payment immediately," the statement said.

The service was launched in the country this week by DoP, with Secretary P Gopinath receiving the first payment from United Arab Emirates at a function organised by India Post for signing the tie-up between the Department of Posts and the Emirates Post Group, the statement said.

The service will be rolled out nationally in a phased manner and will be made available at about 17,500 post offices across India by next month.

"This new service has its own significance going by the fact that globally, India is the largest recipient of remittances with over USD 70 billion annually, half of which come from the Gulf," the statement said.

The money transfer service will be provided through the International Financial System (IFS) of Universal Postal Union..

Remove Write Protection On Memory Card Or USB Pen Drive .

You may see the following errors when your pendrive,memory card becomes write protected

Cannot copy files and folders, drive is write protected

Cannot format the drive, drive is write protected

The disk is write protected

Remove write protection or use another disk

Media is write protected

INSTRUCTION

1.Open Start Menu >> Run, type regedit and press Enter, this will open the registry editor.

2.Navigate to the following path:


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > StorageDevicePolicies

If the registry key StorageDevicePolicies key does not exist, you will need to create it

Download this batch file called add.bat from HERE and double click after download the key will be automatically added to registry.






3.Double click the key WriteProtect in the right pane and set the value to 0 in the Value Data Box and press OK button






4.Exit Registry, restart your computer and then again re-connect your USB pen drive on your computer. That is it, done.

FIX: SPEEDNET VIRTUAL BAG MESSAGES NOT RECEIVED

Some of the offices virtual scanning not comes for Bag opening and article invoicing due to non availability of Virtual message file from central server (Not transmitted from Despatched office) or not received from central server to destination offices.
Solution:
              The virtual message file available in central server and not received in our office due to the following reason.

trxchx.txt file available in RXD folder 

Delete trxchx.txt folder from RXD:

1. Exit  Speed Net communication from your Machine.
2. Go to RXD folder, it exists inside EMS Client Folder / C:\Program Files\EMS Client
3. Check whether trxchx.txt available in RXD Folder. 
4. If available delete trxchx.txt from your RXD folder.

World Post Day: UN urges governments to support postal developments and modernization

 

On World Post Day (9 October)UPU Director General Bishar A. Hussein urges governments to support postal reform efforts to ensure the provision of efficient postal services.

In his annual message, the head of the United Nations specialized agency says that postal services continue to play a vital role in the exchange of information and goods and that Posts worldwide are redefining themselves to meet customers’ evolving needs.“Posts remain important facilitators of national and international trade in this constantly evolving world,” he says. “The postal network, with more than 600,000 post offices, remains the largest physical network on the planet and a fundamental infrastructure for large segments of the economy.” 

In a special message, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon also urges governments to take advantage of the postal network’s ‘tremendous potential’ for reaching citizens. “Postal services are engines of trade, growth and development,” says Ban as they go beyond physical mail and are redefining themselves for a 21^st- century communication landscape.

Mobile Money Transfer Service by India Post

DOP Mobile Money Transfer is a service that enables instant money transfer from one place to another place using mobile, through Indian post offices. The consumer just needs to have a mobile while the actual transmission of the money is initiated by the Postal Assistant, using his/her special handset. The process for money transfer is very simple to understand and follow. The remitter (sender) can submit money (Cash In) at any of the covered post office and automatically, the amount is transferred to a central position, which can be collected by recipient customer (Cash Out) from any of the covered Post offices. As soon as the Cash in happens, both the sender and the recipient get a SMS on their mobile phones. The sender gets a Transaction ID and a Six (6) digit secret code in the SMS while the Recipient only gets the Transaction ID. Recipient can claim the money from any of the covered Post Offices by showing the Transaction ID that he receives on his mobile in the SMS and the Secret code, which he gets from the sender. In order to make process smooth and convenient, a notification sms is being sent to remitter as well as to recipient regarding transaction irrespective of their telecom operator.

 For this initiative, India's pioneer and largest communication service provider (CSP), BSNL will provide mobile connections to DOP’s designated officials and BSNL will bring Global technology for Mobile Money Transfer. Each Post office shall be provided with a mobile handset with pre loaded application by BSNL’s technology partner M/s Maverick Mobile Solutions.
