Now a notification is published by the Department of Posts, Government of India in connection with candidates are called for the post of POSTAL ASSISTANTS for the vacancies of 2013-2014. After their selection for the post of POSTAL ASSISTANTS they will be appointed in the scale of pay in Pay Band 5200-20200 with Grade Pay 2400.

Let us know How much of Gross pay as on 01.01.2014 will be drawn by the newly appointed Postal Assistant.

Transport Allowance (Rs.1600+100%) Rs. 3200.00

If appointed in the B1 cities (list of B1 cities issuedby the Central Government)

Basic Pay - Rs. 7510.00

Grade Pay - Rs. 2400.00

Dearness Allowance @ 100% - Rs. 9910.00

House Rent Allowance @ 30% (BP+GP) - Rs .1982.00

Transport Allowance (Rs.800+100%) - Rs.1600.00

Gross - Rs. 23402.00

Apart from this you can draw hill station allowance if you are posted in the hill stations.

R Net communication 4.0-String or Binary data would be truncated error solution.

After COD we have faced many Issues in Postman , Despatch, Treasury and Sub accounts. Now days in many Sub offices are dealing CODs without any Issues.

In Some offices while running R Net Communication it shows an error message as String or binary data would be truncated. The Statement has been terminated.

It may problem with COD Article Message data. Some times articles were booked without Prescribed format in Addressee Name / Addressee address.  Those Messages are received at in Delivery Office by R Net Communication RXD Folder.

But R Net Communication was not able to Unzip/Unload the Received data due to Incorrect format/Syntax.

So not able to upload and It shows an error message as String or binary data would be truncated.

SOLUTION:

 Download the latest R Net communication.exe and  will copy it in the folder path.

India Post open to e-commerce prospects.

 Mumbai, March 16:  

As tier-II and III cities in India open up more to electronic retailing, India Post wants to exploit this opportunity by providing e-commerce players last mile connectivity to their customers.

India Post (also known as Department of Posts) wants to restructure/re-build its parcel network, operations and delivery set up to meet the needs of e-commerce players to cater to their need for transportation and delivery of parcels/packets.

The Department, which comes under the administrative control of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, has 1,39,086 post offices in its network. These post offices provide the last mile delivery link for parcels by reaching out to customers at their doorsteps.

With the help of a consultant, the Department, according to its project document, will examine its existing network in terms of its utility/relevance vis-à-vis the new business opportunities (e-commerce) and emerging clientele and how to make it more effective.

This move comes as e-commerce driven transportation and delivery of parcels and packets is emerging as the new growth engine for the courier, express and parcel market the world over and India.

The network building/optimisation exercise for parcels will enable India Post to improve quality of service, helping it to tap the opportunities offered by e-commerce.

According to its Book of Information, India Post’s parcel product, including speed post and express parcel post, traffic saw a 43 per cent jump in 2011-12 to 40 crore against 28 crore in the previous year.

According to industry body Assocham, India’s e-commerce market increased from about $2.5 billion in 2009 to $16 billion in 2013 and is expected to touch $56 billion by 2023.

"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

Clarification from CEPT Mysore is given below.

    The IPS system is upgraded to 2013 version and in the new upgraded version there is no web client software. UPU needs to provide the same and the issue is being pursued with UPU for providing the IPS web client. But in fact, the non-availability of IPS web client will not hamper the uploading of delivery particulars of International Articles in the IPS system provided the delivery details are uploaded in the Speed Net / R Net as at present whatever data is entered in Speednet client / R-net client application, the same is being exchanged with IPS System.

India Post opens 2 ATMs in Delhi, 2800 more pan-India by March 2015.

NEW DELHI: Postal bank savings account holders in Delhi can now avail of ATM services as India Post today launched automated teller machines at two locations here.

The department will open 2,800 more such ATMs by March 2015 which is part of its core banking system (CBS) project.

The initiative is part of modernisation project under which around 1.6 lakh post offices will be equipped with core banking system by 2015, Communications and IT Minister Kapil Sibal said while launching ATM at ITO post office. The other ATM has been opened at Kashmere Gate PO.
