Non reflection of emos received in DET After the installation of New meghdoot version-solution

 It is   reported that after the installation of new version of Meghdoot software, eMOs received today (Sl no.29 of Data extracted value)  are not getting extracted in DET in most of the POs. But the eMOs issued for delivery,brought back,returned to sender and received missent are captured in the DET.
Since the eMOs received are not being reflected/included  in the total number of accountable  articles received, the percentage of  accountable articles brought back, missent & returned to sender are getting increased  and tantamounts to poor performance .

Please run attached script. Then do postman day-end today and run DET for today. Then check DET dashboard whether data appear correctly.

If it is correct,then remove old project arrow files for the dates on which issue occurred from TXD folder. Then do postman day-end for those dates and run DET for those dates again. The issue will get resolved.

Modification in minimum amount for National Biller for CBSE in ePayment module

The following issues are reported from units while accepting the fee for NEET(UG)-2013 under e-payment in Kerala

1. The fee for SC/ST Candidates is Rs.550. But in the Point of Sale module, it doesn’t accept Rs.550. Only Rs.1000 is reflected as default in the the Point of Sale module.
2. While filling the application form through online, the candidate has to give the receipt number in 10 digits, but the receipt number generated while accepting the fee, under e-payment, is starting from serial no.1. This is not accepted while uploading the number through online, by the candidate.

   Solution for this issue is available at   ftp://ftp.ptcinfo.org/ePayment/ Please do as explained in the text file available at the location.

Continuation of IT Modernisation Project of Department of Posts – Phase II

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today approved the proposal of Rs.4,909 crore towards IT modernisation project of the Department of Posts, covering 1.55 lakhs post offices.

The total expenditure for the project involving Rs.4,909 crore includes both implementation phase and operation and maintenance phase for the IT infrastructure of Post Offices. The IT project of the Department is a part of the Mission Mode Project (MMP) included in the National e-Governance Plan (NEGP).

The Department of Posts has a network of 1.55 Lakhs post offices spread across all the States and Union Territories of the country. The key objective of the India Post IT Modernisation project is modernization and computerization of all Post offices in the country including branch post offices in rural areas to create a urban-rural network spanning across the length and breadth of the country.

Akash 2 launched by Pranab Mukherjee

The much talked about tablet Aakash 2 designed, developed and manufactured by DataWind Ltd. for supply to IIT Bombay was launched by the President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday.

In the first phase, DataWind is to supply 100,000 units of Aakash 2 to IIT Bombay, which intends to distribute them to Engineering University and College students.

NME-ICT Director, N.K.Sinha said, “We envision all 220 million students across India to be enabled by low cost Aakash devices in the coming years.”

The launch was part of a two-day workshop conducted by IIT Bombay for teaching faculties in engineering colleges using remote training applications developed at IIT Bombay’s Open Source development lab. Over the last many months, IIT Bombay has developed unique and compelling applications for engineering students on the Aakash2 platform, which include 3D-modelling, C++ programming, remote and collaborative training applications, robotic control and live assessment tools. IIT Bombay has partnered with the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), to assist with the hardware testing and logistics.

NEGATIVE LIST 30/09/2012

Negative List Updation Patch - Updated upto 30/09/2012
This patch file updates the negative list available in Sanchay Post software. To confirm updation, use the "Database Discrepancies >> NSC >> Details of Negative List Updation" option available inDBAnalyzer software.
	The file 'NL_20120930.exe' should be copied to DBAnalyzer folder and executed after completion of day's transactions. This will update the negative list upto 30/09/2012  in Sanchay Post. In addition to Negative List, updations relating to PINCODE details are also done in the database. Hence, execution of this patch will take longer than the usual updation time. System Administrators should ensure that the server is not switched off till successful execution of the patch.

Working On Your Computer In Healthy Way

Follow some basic tips to work in a better way on your computer.

• Do not work in total darkness where the computer screen is the only source of light, especially if you have to type or copy from a printed document.
• Ensure that the keyboard and the document you are typing from are adequately lit up. The keys and letters should be visible and they should appear in focus when you look at them. If you are looking at a sheet of paper while typing, keep a paper holder adjacent to the monitor and ensure the letters are visible. Contrast also affects visibility. Black letters on a white background are the easiest to read as opposed to light lettering on a dark background.

Bug in Update 3 while taking return from postman after modifiying the Postman name

Postman name cannot be changed once articles are invoiced to that beat on the day.
Anyway, please run attached script and replace new Postman exe and dlls by downloading from http://www.sendspace.com/file/fvxlji  . The issue will get resolved.

 In Meghdoot Update 3 after modifying the Postman name in Supervisor. The postman name appears twice while taking returns (Old Postman Name+New Postman Name). Because of this bug day end cannot be done. Now CEPT MYsore has Provided two exl to solve this issue

SpeedNet-UID Status Update:
--------------------------

1) Purpose : To facilitate Post Offices in updating the status as 'RECEIVED' or 'NOT RECEIVED' for the Speed Post UID articles shown as received in UID Reports for that office.

2) Pre-requisites :
   --------------
  a) .Net Framework 2.0 or higher
  b) Update 6 for SpeedNet Version 3.1.2
  c) Latest SpeedNet Communication (.Net environment)

3) Installation Procedure:
   ----------------------

  a) Please run the POSPCC16102012.EXL file using ScriptTool.
      b) Please copy the SpeedNet-UID Status Update.exe file to the EMSClient folder (where SpeedNet Communication.exe exists).
      c) Please create Shortcut of SpeedNet-UID Status Update.exe on Desktop.


4) Operational Procedure :
   ---------------------

   a) Login : Use the same Login Credentials of SpeedNet-Operator to Login to this application.

   b) Send Request : Click on "Send Request" button to send a request to Data Centre to get data of undelivered UID Articles above 25 days.
      One request is allowed per day.
    Once "Send Request" is done, this button will remain disabled till next day.
  Run the SpeedNet Communication and wait for receipt of data from Data Centre.

   c) Fetch Data   : When UID Articles data is received from Data Centre, "Fetch Data" button will be enabled.
  Click on "Fetch Data" button to fetch the data received from Data Centre.
  Once "Fetch Data" is done, this button will be disabled.

   d) Status Selection : Pending UID Articles data, if any, will be shown in the Grid View for selection of Operator.
  Select UID article status by selecting 'Received' or 'Not Received' from the dropdown list against each UID articles in Grid View.

  Shortcut keys to select the UID articles status:
  "Tab" key : Select the Grid Cell
  "F8" key   : 'Received'
  "F9" key : 'Not Received'

   e) Report : If any UID Article(s) which are received physically and scanned in SpeedNet are available, a Report will be generated and "Report" button will be enabled.
  Click on "Report" button to export the Report (.txt format).

  Proper returns for the articles shown in the Report should be taken under SpeedNet Operator --> Delivery --> "Returns" or "Remarks From Other Offices" or "Other Office Articles - Delivery Data", as applicable.

  If no UID Articles are available for the Report, "Report" button will be disabled.

   f) Update Data : If any UID Article is pending for status updation, "Update Data" button will be enabled.
  Select the status of each UID Articles shown in the Grid View as explained above at (d).
  Click on "Update Data" button to update the status of the UID Articles at Data Centre.
  If status of all UID Articles is updated, the "Update Data" button will be disabled.
  Run the SpeedNet Communication to transfer the updated data to Data Centre.

GOOGLE LAUNCHED FREE SMS SERVICE IN INDIA

Google has extended its free SMS chat service to India, whereby users can send text messages to mobile phones via Gmail Chat.

"You can send SMS messages to your contacts' mobile phones using Gmail Chat ... Google does not charge for using this service," according to information available with Google's website.

The SMS service is available in India and 51 other countries in Asia, Africa and North America.

The feature was activated for Indian users on October 10 and is available for regular Gmail users as well as those on Google Apps.

As per Google's website, this feature is available on all the mobile operators in the country.

The Centre for Railway Information Service (CRIS) has announced a new web application called RailRadar, which allows users to access location of a train on Map and track movements of trains on a real-time basis. The new RailRadar service is considered to be an improved version of the earlier tracking system ‘Spot Your Train’.

The RailRadar application has been jointly developed by CRIS and RailYatri team (Stelling Technologies) and users can access it atrailradar.trainenquiry.com. The app will help users find the exact geographical location of 6,500 passenger trains of the Indian Railways on Google Maps on a real time basis. Users can also access RailRadar service from their mobile phones, via the device's browser.
