PARCELNET UPDATE, SOLUTIONS BY CEPT MYSORE. DATED 10/12/2013.

Guidelines for implementation of BNPL Parcel Software at exclusive Parcel Booking Centres (other than post offices)

The following is the procedure for complete implementation of BNPL Parcel software in the new Parcel Booking Centres.  The procedure for implementation of BNPL Software in Post Offices (which are authorised to book Bulk Parcels) is given separately in Page-3 of this document.

a)  Bulk booking of Parcels (Bulk Express Parcels and Business Parcels) can only be done by Post offices/newly opened Parcel Booking Centres.  Bulk parcel booking cannot be done by other kinds of offices.

b)  If an administrative decision is taken to book parcels in the premises of an existing RMS Offices/BPCs/MBCs etc., a new office has to be created by CEPT with office type as PBC (Parcel Booking Centre).  Even though the PBC functions in the same premises, it is treated as a separate office as far as software is concerned.  For adding the new PBC Office  by CEPT, the following information is to be sent by the Divisional Head concerned by email:

i)   Name of the Office:
ii)  Pincode
iii) Division under which the PBC functions

c) Based on the above information,  a new office with office type as PBC will be created by CEPT and informed back to the Divisional Head concerned. An unique Office Code will be allotted by the Server for each such office added. The Office code for all PBCs start with letter “B”.

d)  Once the office is added by CEPT, the new office is available as a Booking Office for Customer Registration.   While registering the customer in ParcelNet website, the Divisional Administrator has to select the correct booking office i.e., the newly added PBC.  If any customer registration has already been done by selecting the wrong booking Office, please register the customer again with correct office of booking (after addition of the office by CEPT) and use the new  Customer ID generated by the Server for booking.

e)  The new PBC is a separate office/entity as far as the software is concerned and the following software have to be installed in the new PBC and upgraded to Update-9 to Meghdoot 7.0 (i.e., ParcelNetUpdate dated 29.11.2013)

     i)   Point of Sale (for use of Despatch)
     ii)  RNet Communication
     iii) BNPL Parcel

f)  While configuring the Office Type in Point of Sale, the Office type should be selected as “PBC”.   Please ensure that the office type is selected as “PBC” in Point of Sale, as the RNet Communication software communicates with the Server based on the Office Type selected in Point of Sale.

g)  After configuring the Office Type as PBC in Point of Sale, latest office master data has to be requested through RNet Communication and updated.  Along with office master data, data pertaining to the customers authorized to book parcels from that PBC also gets updated.

h) While doing office configuration in BNPL Parcel application, please select the booking office correctly (as received from Server). If a wrong office name is selected before creation of the office in Central Server, please use the Modify Office option in BNPL Parcel and select the correct one after requesting the latest office master data.

Therefore, broadly the following are the sequential steps to be followed before starting the operations in Parcel Booking Centres:

Guidelines for implementation of BNPL Software in existing Post Offices

The Post Offices which are authorised to book Bulk Parcels need to follow the below procedure for implementing BNPL Parcel Software

a)  Upgradation of the Software to Update-9 to Meghdoot 7.0 (ParcelNet update dated 29.11.2013 and Solutions released there after)

b)  Customer Registration by Divisional Administrator in ParcelNet website

c)  Office Type configuration in Point of Sale needs no change.  It remains as Post office.

d)  Requesting for latest Office master data through RNet Communication and updation through Despatch module. Along with office master data, data pertaining to the customers authorized to book parcels from that Post office also gets updated.

h)  Selecting the correct office name while configuring BNPL Parcel application.

Broadly the following are the sequential steps to be followed before starting the operations in Post Offices:

How To Disable the Automatic Restart on System Failure in Windows 7

Windows 7 is configured by default to restart immediately after a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) or other major system problem. This reboot usually happens too fast to see the error message on screen.
Follow these simple steps to disable the automatic restart feature for system failures in Windows 7.
Important: Unable to boot completely into Windows 7 due to the BSOD? See Tip #2 at the bottom of this page for help.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: Disabling the Automatic Restart option in Windows 7 usually takes less than 10 minutes

Here's How:

  1. Click on the Start button and then on Control Panel.
Tip: In a hurry? Type system in the search box after clicking Start. Choose System under the Control Panel heading in the list of results and then skip to Step 4.
  2. Click on the System and Security link.
Note: If you're viewing the Small icons or Large icons view of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply double-click on the System icon and proceed to Step 4.
  3. Click on the System link.
  4. In the task pane on the left, click the Advanced system settings link.
  5. Locate the Startup and Recovery section near the bottom of the window and click on the Settings button.
  6. In the Startup and Recovery window, locate and uncheck the check box next to Automatically restart.
  7. Click OK in the Startup and Recovery window.
  8. Click OK in the System Properties window.
  9. You can now close the System window.
  10. From now on, when a problem causes a BSOD or another major error that halts the system, Windows 7 will not force a reboot. You'll have to reboot manually when an error appears.

    BSOD (Blue Screen of Death)

Definition: Abbreviated as BSOD or BSoD, the Blue Screen of Death is the popularized name for what is technically called a STOP message or STOP error. It's the blue, full screen error that often displays after a serious system crash. The text on the Blue Screen of Death may list any files involved in the crash including any drivers that may have been at fault and often a short, usually cryptic, description of what to do about the problem.
